An empty shop unit in a Hull shopping centre is set to be thriving once more as a high street fashion chain gets set to open a new store.
Bonmarche will be making the move to Prospect Centre from Whitefriargate, taking over a third of the former Currys unit.
Work has already begun inside the store, which is expected to open its doors on Thursday 4th October at, 10am.
Maria Kamper, centre manager at Prospect Centre, said the opening of another fashion retailer will be a fantastic addition to the retail mix.
“Everyone is excited to welcome Bonmarche to Prospect Centre,” she said. “Having the former Currys unit open and trading again will provide a boost for the centre in terms of both retail offer and footfall.
“We are continually looking to strengthen Prospect Centre’s position within the region’s retail sector by providing our customers with a wider choice of stores and an overall a great shopping experience.
“The timing of this new store is great as we are in the process of making some major improvements to the aesthetics of the malls to encourage people to spend longer in the centre.”
The ladies fashion retailer, which has more than 300 stores across the country, describes itself as “one of the UK’s largest women value retailers focused on selling affordable, stylish, premium quality clothing and accessories in a wide range of sizes”.
Charlotte Thompson, store manager at the new Bonmarche store, said: “We are delighted to be moving into Prospect Centre and becoming a key brand in the centre.
“We are so excited about our new store and both myself and my team believe it looks amazing and we know that customers will love it too.
“We hope many new and existing customers will join us on our special opening day.”
