Highly popular fashion retailer Bolo has opened its doors to Hull’s fashion enthusiasts this week after opening a unit in the heart of Prospect Shopping Centre.

Bolo, which is a locally-owned clothing store and stocks up-and-coming brands such as 9AM Denim, 313 Jackets and Cuckoo’s Nest T-shirts, as well many more, will increase on the fashion offering already available in the Centre, with stores such as Evans and Officers Club continuing to draw in fashion-focussed shoppers.

Bolo previously had occupied a unit in Princes Quay before moving to Prospect Shopping Centre. It has been established in Hull for more than 24 years and has gained a huge reputation and an unyielding respect for excellence in the UK fashion industry, including winning the coveted Drapers Record Women’s Retailers of the Year.

The family-run fashion retailer stocks brands such as Barbour International, Adidas Originals and Boss. The move to the Prospect Centre is coupled with a new website launch, which will see a complete redesign of its online shop.

Bolo owners Paul and Steve Wilks said they were delighted to establish Bolo in the Centre.

Paul said: “Prospect Shopping Centre is situated right in the heart of the city and has continued to grow in reputation over the last few years. I am delighted that Bolo will now be in a position to make the most of the impressive footfall.

“It was beneficial for the store to move to such a prominent unit and I am sure visitors to Prospect Centre will enjoy the different range of clothing we have in stock.”

Prospect Shopping Centre is experiencing some of the highest levels of footfall in its 40-year history, with an estimated 8 million people set to visit the Centre this year.

Prospect Shopping Centre Manager Lee Appleton said: “We are delighted to have a store which has an impressive reputation such as Bolo’s establishing itself in the Centre.

“Bolo is one of Hull’s success stories and we are looking forward to helping them with their continued success. Our rising footfall figures are attracting a high calibre of retailers to establish themselves in our units, which is demonstrated by the quality of the retailers we have here.

“The Centre has a fantastic fashion offering available and Bolo’s addition will add to the vast range of choice we have, as well as attracting a brand new audience.

“Prospect Shopping Centre is also set to announce the opening of another food outlet in the next few weeks, with view to being 100% occupied by mid-October.”

Bolo has also opened another store in Toll Gavel in Beverley as part of its expansion plans.
