Hull's X-Factor Star Ryan Mathie goes through!

23rd September 2013

18 year-old Hull singing sensation, Ryan Mathie, has made it through to the next stage of the X-Factor following his perfect performance on Sunday evening.

Singing Get Lucky by Daft Punk, Ryan wowed both the judges and the 4,000-strong audience at Wembley.  He will now go through to the Boot Camp, where he will perform for a place at one of the four judges’ houses, after which, if he succeeds, he will go through to the live shows in the lead up to Christmas.

Ryan, who is a mechanic for Hull City Council and is responsible for maintaining its fleet of bin lorries, was first discovered at The Prospect Centre when the X-Factor auditions came to Hull earlier this year.

“It is absolutely fantastic that Ryan has made it so far in the competition and we’re particularly proud that he was first found at the Prospect Centre!” comments Lee Appleton, Centre Manager at The Prospect Centre.

“The X-Factor auditions were extremely popular, attracting hundreds of hopefuls, and it’s great to think that Ryan was one of them.  I’m sure everyone in Hull is extremely proud of him and have everything crossed that he makes it through to the live finals,” adds Lee.
