‪#‎ProspectOneGreatDay raises over £200 for vital charities

Prospect Shopping Centre’s fundraising activity in aid of “One Great Day” saw an action-packed day of activity at the centre last weekend.

#ProspectOneGreatDay was aimed at raising as much money as possible for both Great Ormond Street Hospital and Teenage Cancer Trust, the centre’s nominated charity, and what a great day it was!

NewRiver Retail has really got behind One Great Day, encouraging all of its Centre’s to host activities throughout the month. The activities at Prospect Shopping Centre was designed to be a fun filled day out for all the family and, as you can see from all the smiling faces, it didn’t disappoint.

People young and old tried their hand at our balloon popping challenge. Shoppers were invited to donate £1 to try and pop a balloon with a prize voucher inside! Either way, entrants got a goodie bag.

All prizes were donated by our generous retailers, who helped make the day a huge success.

With the sun beating down on this outdoor event, some of the younger visitors to the Centre had fun bouncing around on our space hoppers. An ice cream and candy floss cart made a sweet addition to the activity and kept the kids happy while they waited for their faces to be painted.

We also had a visit from one special little girl, 5-year-old Lilly Flynn, (pictured in the denim jacket) who is just one of thousands of children who have benefitted from the great work of Great Ormond Street. It was pure coincide that she and her family were shopping at Prospect at the weekend and her Mother explained that she has been treated at the hospital since birth.

All in all everyone helped to raise more than £200 for two very worthwhile causes and for that we are extremely grateful.
