Visitors to a popular shopping centre this Saturday are being challenged to put their strength and stamina to the test all in the name of charity.
Prospect Centre is set to host a Euro 2016 inspired family fun day, which will feature a 30ft bungee run challenge, on Prospect Street, to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity and other local children’s health charities.
There will also be the chance to show off your football skills in a keepy uppy challenge, as well as bounce around on the Centre’s giant space hoppers.
The person who gets the furthest on the bungee run and scores the highest on the football kicking challenge will win a fabulous football hamper, which includes a Hull City “We are Premier League” t-shirt – as well as footballs and other merchandise, courtesy of the club itself.
The busy shopping destination is one of 60 shopping centres across the UK taking part in ‘One Great Day’, on Saturday 18th June, which is a series of family and community charity events being held throughout the month.
Lee Appleton, centre manager, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be a part of One Great Day. Hosting an event like this gives us the chance to give something back to support the wonderful work of local children’s charities and the Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
“One Great Day is about community engagement and raising money for a number of great causes, but it is also a fantastic opportunity for families in the area to get together and enjoy a fun day out whilst spending quality time together.”
One Great Day was established in 2014 and has so far raised £150,000 and has now grown to include 46 different children’s charities. The campaign now covers over 15 million square feet of retail space across the United Kingdom, from Folkestone to Aberdeen and nearly everywhere in-between.
The event will run from 11am – 4pm, on Prospect Street, Saturday 18th June.
