Fitness Fundraiser for children’s charity

On Saturday 26 May, shoppers can take part in a Fitness Fundraiser, organised by H&T Pawnbrokers, at Prospect Shopping Centre to raise money for Candle Lighters children’s cancer charity.

The event will be held in the food court, upstairs in the Prospect Centre (access via the scenic lift or escalator), in memory of a little girl named Jess who recently lost her battle with the disease.

Various fitness activities will take place throughout the day, such as Zumba, Circuit Training and demonstrations from Soccer Tots. Adults can take part in the morning, and in the afternoon all the activities will be geared towards children.

Shoppers can also take part in a rowing and running competition to stand the chance of winning 1 weeks free membership at Fitness First Health Club as well as free sessions being up for grabs with Soccer Tots and platform dance classes.

We are asking people to donate £1 to take part, and all funds will be donated to the charity. All you have to do is turn up on the day, between 10am and 4pm to get involved.

Alisa Nicholson, Manager at H&T Pawnbrokers, commented: ‘After hearing about Jess’ story I felt that the least we can do is raise money for an associated charity, not only to raise awareness but to hold an event in memory of such an inspirational young girl’.

Lee Appleton, Centre Manager, commented: “This is a really great cause and I hope that many people will get involved to raise money, whilst having fun and getting fit.”
