A massive congratulations are in order for our very own Shaun Dart and Martin Davis who completed the London – Surrey 100 mile bike ride last weekend to raise money for Diabetes UK and Teenage Cancer Trust, the Centre’s nominated charity.
The sportive event is to celebrate the legacy of the cycling created during the London 2015 Olympic Games. The epic cycling challenge started at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic and followed a 100 mile route on closed roads through the capital’s streets and into the Surrey country side.
The cut off time for completition is 8.5 hours, Shaun finished in an impressive 6 hrs and 16 minutes and Martin in a commendable 7hrs 33 seconds. The pair have both smashed their fundraising targets and have so far raised more than £1000 between them.
They have both booked on for the 2016 ballot and have already managed to persuade a few others to jump on board next year’s expedition.
