Dove House Hospice will be opening the doors of its new shop, The Wedding Room, at Prospect on Tuesday 28th May, helping brides in Hull create their perfect day.
The shop will stock everything for the bride-to-be, with a wide range of beautiful wedding dresses, veils, tiaras and shoes, as well as mother of the bride outfits and stunning hats. Prices will be significantly lower than other wedding retailers, with brand new dresses costing between £350 and £400, meaning all brides can have the wedding of their dreams regardless of budget. They will also be helping a deserving charity, with all profits from the shop going straight to Dove House Hospice.
Dove House Hospice, in Hull, offers vital support and care for adults with life limiting, incurable illnesses, as well as their families. From its Inpatient Unit, which provides end of life care, and a Day Therapy Unit offering therapeutic and creative activities, to a wide range of therapies and respite care to give families a break, the Hospice provides everything to make the lives of its patients more comfortable and fulfilling.
“Dove House Hospice provides an essential service to those who are living with a terminal illness, whether that is the patient themselves or their family. However, the funding we receive is limited so we rely heavily on donations and help from the public. We currently run 33 shops, which have all proved to be extremely successful and we’re hoping the Wedding Room will be exactly the same,” explains Marisa Haines, retail division manager with Dove House Hospice.
“The Wedding Room was originally on the first floor of our shop in Wednesday Market, Beverley, and because it was hidden out of the way we didn’t get the footfall we needed. However, when people did find it they were absolutely amazed and wondered why they didn’t know about it before! It was because of this positive feedback that we decided to set up The Wedding Room as a standalone shop and the Prospect Centre was the obvious choice due to its location and popularity,” adds Marisa.
Lee Appleton, manager of Prospect Shopping Centre, says, “We are delighted to welcome The Wedding Room to Prospect Centre. As the only wedding shop in the centre it will be a fantastic addition. Not only will it provide brides-to-be with everything they need for their special day, but it is also helping a worthy local charity which is close to our hearts. We are confident the shop will be a success.”
