Santa’s World Launch

17th December 2012

Santa’s Reindeer are taking time out of their busy schedule to stop off at Prospect Shopping Centre this Christmas to greet young shoppers visiting Santa’s World. The three-year-old males Sly and Comet landed at the launch of Santa’s World on Saturday 8th December where children were able to meet and pet the animals and find out all about them.

They were joined by Charlie Hook from the Charlie Hook Foundation and Avie Murrell from Avie’s Fund as well as Sleeping Beauty, Prince Charming and Hull FC’s Airlie Bird to cut the ribbon to officially open Santa’s World for 2012.

Five-year-old Avie was diagnosed with late-set severe autism last year and despite undergoing speech therapy through the NHS, she still cannot communicate. Avie’s Fund, supported by Prospect Shopping Centre, was set up in March 2012 by her family to raise funds for her therapy.

Led by their band of elves, Santa, Mrs Christmas and their guests paraded around the centre, posing for photographs with members of the public before they cut the ribbon.

Santa’s World, upstairs in the Atrium, is back for its fourth year and promises to be bigger and better, with organisers hoping to smash visitor numbers of 2000 last year. There’s more to Santa’s World than your average Christmas grotto, with arts and crafts, balloon modelling, face painting and storytelling with Santa, Mrs Christmas and their Elves

For just £4 per child, families can spend an hour of festive fun every Saturday, Sunday and every day in the week leading up to Christmas. And there’s the chance to receive 15% off your ticket if you download the Prospect App. Visitors to Santa’s World on Saturday 15th or Monday 24th will be able to meet the Reindeer as part of their experience and make this a Christmas to remember!
