Superbike Racing with the Rapid Solicitors Racing Team

8th March 2013

We are calling for all superbike fans to come down to see our latest display of replicas from the Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki and Ducati British Superbikes.

The Centre has teamed up with the Hull-based law firm to put on this showcase. As well as the owners being enthusiasts of Superbike racing, the personal injury compensation specialists have hundreds of biker clients and the firm has sponsored teams and individual riders in major motorcycling events for several years.

On display in the Centre are three autographed bikes from the Rapid Solicitors Racing Team, BSB memorabilia such as team gear and information on the bikes and riders.

Shoppers will see the only replica bike of the current British Superbike Champion. Shane “Skakey” Byrne secured his third title in 2012 and is the double World Superbike race winner. After competing for two years in the MotoGP World Championship, Shane has signed up again for the 2013 team in a bid to take his fourth title and become the most successful British Superbike Champion in history.

Fans can also see a replica of Michael Rutter’s bike. Michael, known as “The Blade”, holds the record for the most appearances at British Superbike races. He is a former MotoGP, World Superbikes rider and most recently the winner of the Isle of Man TT races on an electric bike. Michael also holds the world record for the most wins – seven in total – at the Macau Grand Prix in China and has won the International NW2000 road race in Northern Ireland an impressive 11 times.

Lee Appleton, centre manager of the Prospect Centre says: “For all racing fans to have these superbikes on our doorstep is an exciting opportunity. They are displayed in the store near to our Prospect Street entrance and are certainly something special for our shoppers to see”.

Martin Ward, Commercial Manager Rapid Solicitors, said: “The victory for the team in the world’s premiere domestic two-wheel championship was something very special. We’re extremely proud to have been involved with the team. We’ve brought this exhibition to Hull City Centre to commemorate the Championship win and share some of the experience”.

The bikes will be on display for the next coming months.
