Prospect Centre’s nominated charity for the year 2016-17 is Child Dynamix. It works with children and young people growing up in challenging and difficult circumstances; they might be living in families with issues like addiction to alcohol and/or drugs, domestic and other forms of abuse, a parent or sibling in prison. These children and young people often don’t have an adult they can rely on in their lives or a secure place to call home, they don’t have routine or support as they try and find their way in life.
Child Dynamix’ services and activities are developed and delivered with these children and young people in mind. The charity works in Hull and Humber with 6,000 individuals every year. So far, we have raised more than £1200.
Jane Stafford, CEO, said: “We are proud to have been chosen as the Charity partner for the Prospect Centre, and enjoy working together to support more families in Hull. Funds raised through this partnership will go directly to supporting local families their children and young people. Recently, funds raised by the Prospect centre went towards our summer programme of activities, this has included taking part in the first Hull Kit Car racing at Kcom Stadium, working with children who wouldn’t have got this experience any other way. It has also gone towards other activities that will take place during the summer including play and sport sessions across some of Hull’s pocket parks and green spaces.”
